You’ve Got Yourself A Website - What Happens Next?

Firstly, creating an online home for your business is not easy, so well done you for getting here! 🎉

Now you’ve done this part, what’s next? Think of this like a new house you’ve built in the countryside. It’s currently nicely tucked away, so the only people who are going to find it are those you tell.

The next part of the story is working out who you tell and how you tell them. Ready to dive in? Let's go!

HERE’S A CHECKLIST TO GET YOU STARTED:

☑️ Add your website links to any social media platforms that you have: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok. They all have profile sections where you can add links.

☑️ Setup Google My Business and add your web address (and also more info on your biz if you have time): This will help your business be visible on Google and get in front of more people. Google My Business

☑️ Communities: Are you a member of any online or in-person groups where you could share your new website? These could be specific to your industry or location if you’re looking to attract local people.

☑️ Word of mouth: Tell your family, friends, and even friends of friends… You never know who might need what you’re offering and the difference just one conversation could make.

☑️ Printed material: If you have any existing printed material, make sure your website is updated. Or perhaps consider getting some cards/flyers/posters printed if you have an opportunity to use them.

After these essentials, the next step I’d recommend to reach more people is SEO.

Now, I know it sounds techy, but trust me—it’s possible to do it yourself! It’s essentially a way of labeling your website using certain words so that Google knows what it’s about and can show it to the right people when they are searching for things.

For example, if you’re a relationship coach based in West Sussex, you want to ensure that these words feature on your website—particularly in your page titles. Additionally, think about keywords or phrases that people looking for your product or service may type into a search engine. So in the relationship example, this could be a question like how to increase my confidence in my relationship—which you could then add as part of your website text or perhaps a blog post.

Remember, building your brand is a journey, and every step forward is progress! Keep shining and sharing your unique story with the world!
